In April 2024, Conor Phelan Construction was awarded one of the first major contracts under the Cappoquin Regeneration Project, a multi-million euro initiative aimed at revitalising the town centre and tackling vacancy and dereliction.
Our role in the project involves the full refurbishment of three terraced townhouses at 6, 7, and 8 Main Street, transforming these long-vacant properties into energy-efficient, modern homes. Each will include thoughtfully designed living spaces, along with additional mews-style accommodation to the rear on Green Street.
This contract is part of a broader regeneration effort supported by the Department of Rural and Community Development through the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund (RRDF), with further support from Waterford City and County Council and the Cappoquin Regeneration Company.
As a construction company rooted in West Waterford, we are proud to contribute to this important project that puts community at its core. The homes are due for completion by the end of 2025 and will play a key role in Cappoquin’s renewed future as a thriving, sustainable place to live.
We are honoured to be part of a project that combines heritage conservation, practical design and community revitalisation — values that reflect the way we build.
